Basic Rocketry & Space Workshop

As part of the National Space Day 2026 observance, the Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Innovation Cell, HPSM’s Ganpat Parsekar College of Education, Harmal, organised a Basic Rocketry & Space Workshop on 12 August to provide students with practical exposure to the fundamentals of rocketry and space science.

The hands-on workshop was conducted by the Association of Friends of Astronomy (Goa) for Higher Secondary and college students of Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal. The session introduced students to the fundamental principles of rocket science through interactive learning and a live bottle rocket demonstration. The activity enabled students to explore concepts such as Newton’s Laws of Motion, thrust, air pressure, stability, and projectile motion, while connecting theoretical principles with their practical applications in rocketry.
