An educational visit to the Goa State Central Library and Gomantak Bhavan

The Department of English, in collaboration with the Library Committee of Ganpat Parsekar College of Education, organised an educational visit to the Goa State Central Library, Panaji, and Gomantak Bhavan on 7th March, 2026. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to both media and library systems.
At the Goa State Central Library, students explored different sections of the library and became familiar with its extensive collection of books, journals, and digital resources. They were also introduced to the cataloguing and classification systems used to organise library materials.
At Gomantak Bhavan, students learned technical aspects of media production such as drafting and editing news, handling cameras, and managing lighting. They also enjoyed a firsthand experience of reading the news in a media house.
