About Department

The dept of zoology adheres to the values of life, respect for Nature and acquisition of sound knowledge of animal sciences through quality educational practices and research.B.Sc.B.Ed in zoology aims to integrate philosophical and sociological perspectives of education with the subject of Zoology.

This integration equips future educators with not mere in-depth theoretical knowledge but also the ability to critically think and problems solving. The course aims to render professional training in imparting knowledge at School teaching as well as aspire for higher level education and research.

Teaching learning Pedagogies

A student-centric teaching-learning pedagogyis applied with is supported by technology. The competencies of students are observed and nurtured in sync with the vision of the college.

Social Responsibility

The department organises and participates in various days of National importance as AIDS day, Wildlife week, apart from conducting a cleanliness drive, NO SUP campaign, Awareness about Menstruation, Beekeeping training sessions etc as part of community outreach.

Student Progression –

On completion of the BSc, B.Ed Zoology programme, most students pursue postgraduate degree courses within and out of the state, while some opt to pursue a career in school teaching.

Infrastructure

The department has a spacious and well-equipped laboratory, storeroom and classroom. The laboratory caters to all the needs of the curriculum as well as research.
