On-site workshop on the prehistoric sites of Goa

 

 

In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, the Department of History at Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye College of Arts and Commerce, in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology, Government of Goa, organized an on-site workshop on the prehistoric sites of Goa.

This workshop was designed for college teachers and history students from across Goa and took place on September 29, 2023. Dr. Varad Sabnis, Assistant Superintending Archaeologist, served as the resource person for the event. Among the participants were faculty members from our college, Mr. Gouresh Velip and Ms. Zarin Khan, as well as four students: Ms. Akansha Terene (SYBA B.Ed), Ms. Ayushi Narvekar, Mr. Godwin Naik, and Mr. Vipul Kudtarkar (FYBA B.Ed). They actively engaged in the workshop, gaining on-site experience and knowledge about Goa’s prehistoric sites, including Pansalimol, Usgalimol, Bahulyache Mol at Revona, and the Laxmi-Narayan temple at Vichiundrem-Netravli, all located in the Sanguem and Quepem talukas of Goa along the banks of the Khushavati River. The workshop concluded, leaving behind cherished memories.
