Field Visit to Centre for Archaeological Studies

On 4th October 2024, Dept. of History and Education( Fine Arts ) conducted field visit for 11 History Students of TYBABEd. of Ganpat Parsekar College of Education, Harmal Pernem Goa, to Centre for Archaeological Studies at SSA, Govt. College of Arts and Commerce, Virnoda, Pernem Goa accompanied by Mr. Gouresh Velip Asst. Prof. Dept.of History and Mr. Pritesh Naik, Asst. Prof. Fine Arts, Dept.of Education. During the field visit several interesting observations were made. The students had the opportunity to witness and have firsthand knowledge about the artifacts, historical documents, and preserved remains at the center, providing them with a practical insight into Goa’s rich archaeological heritage. Centre’s Curator Dr. Rohit Phalgaonkar gave details information on artifacts and its process of restoration and preservation. The visit not only enriched their knowledge but also allowed them to appreciate the significance of archaeology in understanding and preserving the region’s history. Overall, the field visit was both educational and insightful, offering students a valuable learning experience outside the confines of a classroom setting.
