Field Trip For S.Y.B.A.B.Ed Students

 

 

The department of Geography organised a field visit at Krishnapur which is situated in the Bhimgad Wildlife Santuary of the Belgaum Divison. The aim of the visit was to observe the geographical landscape and the flora and Fauna of Bhimgad wildlife Sanctury, Belgaum Karnataka and Madei Wildlife Sanctuary, Goa. Krishnapur is a recent tourist attraction mostly the local tourist visiting the site for its spiritual beliefs and to worship Shree Pisteshwar god which as a deep religious significance. People from across Goa travel to this place to take the blessing and also to observe the river fish besides the temple.

The department planned for the trek of around 16 km up and down so as to give the students an exposure to two different sanctuaries and to make educate them about the diversity of flora and fauna in these locations. The trek started at 10 am from the forest gate and reached the designation at 12.00 noon. Students observed the scenic beauty of river Madei and fluvial morphology. The students were able to observe the types of rocks, how to understand the changes in the water levels along the river bed, soil, types of vegetation and agriculture around the areas. The trek also made the students aware of maintaining physical health. The trek concluded around 4.10 pm from there the student were brought back to Harmal. Overall, the field trip was a great learning experience for the students as well as the teachers.
