A talk on the topic “Shakti in the Mahabharata: A Feminist Retelling”

The Department of English at Ganpat Parsekar College of Education organized an insightful talk on the topic “Shakti in the Mahabharata: A Feminist Retelling” on the 11th of March 2024. The distinguished guest speaker for the event was Ms. Kshama Dharwadkar, an Assistant Professor in French.

Objectives:

• The explore the portrayal of feminine power within the narrative framework of the Mahabharata.
• To criticalkly examine how the epic Mahabharata often dominated by male characters and perspectives.

To reinterpret Mahabharata through feminist lens to highlight the significance of female characters and their roles in shaping the narratives.
