Electoral Literacy Club

Electoral Literacy Club  are being established across the country to promote electoral awareness and education among Indian citizens of all age groups. These clubs aim to engage individuals through interactive activities and hands-on experiences, while maintaining an apolitical, neutral, and non-partisan approach.

A special focus is on setting up Electoral Literacy Clubs in colleges throughout India, particularly targeting new voters aged 18 to 21 years who are pursuing their undergraduate studies. All students, regardless of their semester, will be included as members of these clubs.

Objectives of the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC):

  1. Educate target groups about voter registration, the electoral process, and related topics through practical, hands-on experiences.
  2. Familiarize participants with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), and promote awareness of the robustness and integrity of the electoral process.
  3. Help the target audience understand the importance of their vote, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote with confidence, comfort, and ethical responsibility.
  4. Leverage the potential of ELC members to promote electoral literacy within their communities.
  5. Facilitate voter registration for eligible members who have not yet registered.
  6. Cultivate a culture of electoral participation, ensuring informed and ethical voting while upholding the principles of “Every vote counts” and “No Voter to be Left Behind.”
